High speed CAN-FD interface module
The TRION3-CAN-FD module is equipped with four CAN-FD SIC interfaces. All ports are compatible with the CAN 2.0B specification. The maximum baud rate is 8 Mbit/s per channel. Each interface is isolated. Termination is programmable for each interface. The connector type is DSUB9.
The main application for these CAN-ports is acquiring CAN data alongside analogue data. Although the CAN data is asynchronous to the analogue data, the TRION3-CAN-FD module guarantees perfect synchronization. Each incoming CAN message is directly time-stamped to the analogue sample count number before the data is transferred to the application software.
A DBC or ARXML file can be used in the Oxygen software to decode CAN data in real time. This includes processing individual messages and channels.
The signal improvement capability (SIC) is an additional feature added to CAN FD transceiver that enhances the maximum data rate achievable in complex star topologies by minimizing signal ringing.
The TRION3-CAN-FD bus transceiver supports advanced bus fault detection. In transmit mode various faults can be recognized.
The TRION3-CAN-FD module is ideal for test and measurement facilities and laboratories, mobile applications. Sectors include aerospace, automotive, power and rail.
TRION3-CAN-FD modules need to be installed in DEWE3 DAQ chassis, and are not supported in DEWE2 DAQ chassis.
