The German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), Berlin, is breaking new ground in future-oriented structural testing and monitoring of buildings. As part of the DFG priority program SPP 2388 "One hundred plus Extending the service life of complex building structures through intelligent digitalization" (SPP 100+), which uses the historic Nibelungen Bridge in Worms as a demonstration and validation object, the BAM is carrying out a project to develop new, pioneering methods for digital structural monitoring and proactive maintenance management. On board: smart ASC sensor systems from the ASC AiSys ECO series.
DownloadRailway infrastructure monitoring is cumbersome, disruptive and expensive. Or isn't it? In partnership with Siemens Mobility Trkiye and DB Systemtechnik GmbH, Turkish State Railways (TCDD) decided to take an innovative approach: Continuous Infrastructure Monitoring (CIM). Enabled by ASC sensor technology, they are moving from a corrective "find and fix" approach to "predict and prevent": the proactive identification of future risks by integrating historic with real-time data collected through inertial sensors embedded in high-speed passenger trains.
DownloadOver 25,000 bridges across Germany fall into the accountability of the 13 employees in the bridge monitoring department at DB InfraGO AG. An intense task and extreme responsibility. Supported by ASC Sensors' expertise, the DB bridge experts are currently working on an innovative pilot to make the monitoring and proactive maintenance of critical railroad bridges simpler, safer and more cost-effective in the long term.
DownloadBridges are exposed to immense loads. Their operational safety must therefore be regularly monitored. Continuous condition monitoring of structures has now established itself as an alternative to costly on-site inspections. Dewesoft's high-performance data acquisition systems and ASC GmbH's high-precision inertial sensors are already being employed on many bridges, including the colossal Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macau Bridge in China.
